How much must I invest in my company?
At least 100 minimum wages registered and paid in your name ($174,688,200 COP ≈ $53,750 USD in 2026), certified by a public accountant with full funds traceability.
Can I work in my company?
Yes: this visa expressly authorizes working in the company you own or co-own. But it's tied to that stake: selling it or company non-compliance affects the visa.
Must my company be fully compliant?
Cancillería reviews current existence, statements, employees with social security current, payroll, taxes, leases and vendors. We pre-audit everything with your accountant before filing.
Does it lead to residency?
Yes. It's an M visa: 5 continuous years as a holder let you apply for the Resident visa.
How long and from where do I apply?
Usually 2 to 5 weeks once filed. From Colombia or your country of residence or nationality.
Do I need a lawyer if it's all online?
