The Rentista Visa in numbers
V-type visa for passive-income earners exploring Colombia. Apply from Colombia or your country.
Rentista vs. Retirement: Rentista needs passive income from 10 minimum wages and doesn't accrue toward residency; Retirement needs a pension from 3 minimum wages and accrues (5 years → R). Mixed income? The consultation defines your best route.

Rentiers already living in Colombia

"An excellent agency I widely recommend for getting visas for Colombia: honest, transparent, direct and results-driven, no tricks. I live alone between Italy and Switzerland with my 6-year-old daughter, originally from Madagascar. Between dual nationality, irregular rental income, a daughter recognized only at age two, my daughter's surname change and a mother in Madagascar who is practically impossible to reach... they helped me step by step with an objective analysis of each problem and, above all, solving it. In the end, we made it and now we both hold 'V-RENTISTA' visas. I don't just recommend them to anyone — I'll be contacting them myself when I need to renew my visa."

Straight answers, before you ask
What counts as passive income?
Rents, dividends, interest, royalties: anything that doesn't require your daily work. It must total ≥ 10 monthly minimum wages, certified by a recognized entity and visible in 6 months of statements.
Can I work on this visa?
No: it bars working for or billing Colombian companies and receiving local pay. Your Colombian investment income is allowed.
Does it lead to residency?
It doesn't accrue toward residency. If your goal is staying years, the consultation assesses whether Retirement, Spouse or another M suits you better — before you invest in the wrong visa.
How long and from where do I apply?
Two to five weeks once filed. From Colombia or your country of residence or nationality. Granted duration (6 months to 2 years) is discretionary.
Can I include my family?
Yes: spouse and children under 25 as dependents, each with their fees and a reduced legal fee.
Do I need a lawyer if it's all online?
No platform requires counsel. But proving irregular or multi-country income before a discretionary officer is exactly where files get inadmitted. For your Colombian adventure, it's worth shielding.
