Married outside Colombia — does it count?
Yes, with one prior step: the foreign certificate must come apostilled, officially translated into Spanish and registered at a Colombian consulate or notary before filing. We handle that for you.
Not married? Common-law partner?
A notary- or court-declared unión marital de hecho grants exactly the same M-visa rights. On the consultation we assess which route — marriage or union — is fastest and safest for you.
Do same-sex couples qualify?
Fully yes. Colombia recognizes equal marriage and same-sex de facto unions, with identical rights and the same process.
What are the motivation letter and special POA?
Cancillería requires a formal letter signed by the Colombian spouse requesting the visa, plus an authenticated special POA authorizing the foreigner to apply. We draft both around your real story.
How long and from where do I apply?

Do I need a lawyer if it's all online?
